
I’m not easily impressed when it comes to music. Most bands and artists sound like carbon copies of whatever is popular. Rhianna, Nickelback, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha: All on my list of overplayed crap that sounds the same. Even most rap all sounds the same to me; talking about the same things in every song—their money, their women, their image.
I started listening to Mickey Avalon three years ago. Imagine this: a white, jewish, former heroin addict/prostitute who dances like Mick Jagger and looks like a rock star. And if that doesn’t interest you in the slightest bit, just check out one of his songs. Sick beats are punctuated with lyrical cadence you’ve never heard before. This dude has a style of his own. He’s underground, so you won’t hear him on the radio.
